The Nissan Skyline GTR is a line of compact executive cars originally produced by the Japanese premium carmaker Prince Motor Company starting in 1955 and subsequently by Nissan after the 2 companies emerged in 1966. It's currently available in either coup� or sedan body styles and are most commonly known
by their round brake lights with the station wagon bodystyle being dropped in 1989 with the introduction of the R32 platform.
The 1st Nissan Skyline GTR cars were produced from 1969 to 1977. After a 16 year hiatus since the KPGC110 in 1972 the Nissan Skyline GTR GTR name was revived in 1989 with the Skyline R32.
The Nissan Skyline GTR was nicknamed " Godzilla " by the Australian motoring publication "Wheels" in its July 1989 edition, this nickname sticks to this day. The R32 GT-R dominated the motorsport in Japan winning twenty nine straight victories out of twenty nine races.Amazing.

The Nissan Skyline GTR proceeded to win the JGTC Group A series championship four years in a row and also had success in the Australian Touring Car Championship winning from 1990 to 1992 until the Nissan Skyline GTR was outlawed in 1993. The Nissan Skyline GTR R33 was also the 1st production car to lap the legendary N�rburgring in under 8 minutes.
