Bentley Mulsanne is the 1st car designed from the ground up solely as a Bentley since the 8 Litre of 1928. It is meant to represent all that Bentley stands for.
Bentley Mulsanne is a fast, luxurious, 4 door sedan that hides a fair amount of modern technology inconspicuously within a classic recipe.
It provides drivers with a "stately dominant feeling" and it is meant to rule the category of ultra luxurious 4 door sedans.
The USA price starts at $285.000, plus a $2.595 delivery fee and options will add up quickly.
Only 800 Bentley Mulsanne can be built each year at full production.

Building the 2011 Bentley Mulsanne's V-8 Engine

Bentley Mulsanne has a twin turbo charged 6,75 liter V8 engine which drives the rear wheels through a ZF 8 speed automatic transmission. That engine puts out 505 horsepower and a jaw dropping 752 foot pounds of torque at a very low 1750 rpm. Its redline in fact, is a mere 4500 rpm.

The engine is said to be 15 % more efficient than the same sized V8 in the Arnage adding variable displacement 4 cylinders can be disabled.
A small instantaneous fuel consumption readout in the gauge cluster will show fuel usage of "0.0" if the driver lifts off entirely.

When pushed, the engine noise is a muted roar and the Bentley Mulsanne gathers speed swiftly, but almost discreetly. It will do 0-60 mph in 5,1 seconds, 0-100 mph in less than 12 seconds and the top speed is rated at 184 mph.
The brakes of the Bentley Mulsanne are truly massive with 400 mm front disks almost the size of economy car wheels and they bring the car to a swift stop with no fuss or drama.
The roadholding of Bentley Mulsanne is exemplary and never fussed with squeal during hard cornering from the 20 or 21 inch tires just barely audible depending on how loud the 2200 Watt stereo is turned up.
