The Daihatsu Terios is a mini SUV that was 1st released in 1997 by the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu. The engine was a modified Daihatsu Charade 1,3 litre engine or 660 cc kei car engine with constant 4 wheel drive or 2 wheel drive. It comes in five speed manual transmission or four speed automatic transmission. The width of the 1st generation of Daihatsu Terios is less than 1.500 mm to fulfill the kei car regulation.

5 adults will fit comfortably in the Daihatsu Terios. There is plenty of boot space which really increases the mini mud practicality of the plugger.

The 1,5 litre petrol powerplant is not particularly economical because it struggles to keep pace with faster traffic and really needs to be worked extremely hard if you are to eke out any performance at all. This means engine noise is a constant bugbear.

The sprint from 0 to 60 mph takes the best part of 13 sec while maximum speed is reached at less than 100 mph.
Daihatsu Terios plans to introduce a diesel engine within 2 years, possibly the 1,4 litre D-4D of the Toyota which should at least provide more pulling power and improved economy. Despite its elevated stance, the Daihatsu Terios drives well and its road biased suspension provides agile handling andstable cornering.
