2011 Ducati Diavel Specs and Review

Ducati's controversial entry into the huge and hugely lucrative cruiser market, known internally as Project 0803, will be called the Diavel. The name was decided when an unnamed Ducati engineer first saw the prototype's 240mm-wide rear tire and exclaimed "ignurant comm al diavel!" This translates to "evil, just like a devil!" in the Bolognese dialect local to Ducati's Borgo Panigale factory. The spy photo above shows a similar prototype without bodywork; the production model will debut at the 2010 EICMA Motorcycle Expo in Milan in early November.
Built to have a commanding presence, though lightweight and agile like all Ducatis. Stunning looks, 162hp and 207kg (456lb) of authentic Ducati performance drives a comfortable sport lifestyle that could only be dream of before.
A specially engineered 240 section rear tyre combined with famous Ducati chassis technology serves up mind-blowing handling and lean angles which defy the laws of physics, whether carving through curves on your favourite road or just riding out for a night on the town.
High tech abounds aboard the Diavel: its displays combine an upper LCD and lower TFT (Thin Film Transistor) color display indicating riding mode (Sport, Touring, or Urban), gear selection, and 8-setting traction control information. An electronic fob enables keyless engine starting and steering lock, and monobloc Brembos are equipped with ABS.
